My journey is one of determination and transformation. Educated at state comprehensive schools, I initially left school at sixteen to become a carpenter but later sought a new career. I pursued a BA in History and Politics at the University of Exeter and an MSc in Development Studies at the London School of Economics. As a sustainability expert and consultant, I have helped numerous organisations enhance their environmental and social impact. I founded and directed the Conservative Mental Health Group, advancing vital mental health initiatives, and serve as a trustee for a housing charity supporting disadvantaged seniors. My community leadership includes my role as a councillor, alongside spearheading successful campaigns for tree planting and preserving local pubs.
As your Member of Parliament for Bradford East, I am committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, can succeed and build a brighter future for themselves and their families. Drawing on my extensive experience and proven leadership, I am prepared to be a strong advocate for Bradford East.
Aubrey’s 6-Point Plan for Bradford East
- Championing Quality Education for All
As the MP for Bradford East, I will support robust education initiatives to ensure high-quality learning for everyone. Under the Conservative Government, 90% of schools are now rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding', up from 68% under Labour. Having attended state schools and colleges, I understand the importance of quality state education. I will advocate for continued high standards in schools and essential adult education opportunities to help everyone acquire the skills needed to succeed.
- Tackling Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour
I will support ongoing efforts to combat crime and anti-social behaviour in our community. Since 2019, the Conservatives have fulfilled their pledge to recruit 20,000 new police officers and have committed to adding another 8,000. With a 48% reduction in overall neighbourhood crime, I will back measures to ensure Bradford East remains safe for all residents.
- Supporting Local Businesses
Bradford East is home to many outstanding small and medium-sized businesses that provide local jobs and form the heart of our community. The Conservatives have pledged to abolish the main rate of self-employed National Insurance by the end of the next Parliament. As your MP, I will advocate for policies that support our fantastic local businesses, helping them thrive and grow.
- Combating Fly-Tipping and Littering
I recognise the detrimental impact of fly-tipping and littering in Bradford East. The Conservatives support action against fly-tippers, including the introduction of driving license points for offenders. I am committed to backing such innovative measures to tackle littering and fly-tipping across our community.
- Enhancing Public Transportation
As your Conservative MP for Bradford East, I will champion improved public transportation and connectivity. After listening to residents, I am actively campaigning for immediate action to reopen Bradford Interchange Bus Station and increase transportation options across Bradford East and beyond.
- Ensuring Access to Essential Healthcare
I am dedicated to promoting seamless access to vital local health services in Bradford East. This includes supporting the Conservative Government’s innovative Pharmacy First scheme, which allows residents to obtain specific prescriptions without visiting a GP. Additionally, I will collaborate with the NHS and local groups to ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need.
